On 22 June 2018, the German Cultural Heritage Committee as the national coordinator of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 in Germany, Europa Nostra, and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK) presented the “Berlin Call to Action” at the European Cultural Heritage Summit. It calls upon all cultural policy makers to holistically harness the particular quality and positive power of our common heritage.
The undiscovered potential of our cross-border cultural heritage shall be used to add an important, connecting dimension to the European project.
The “Berlin call” draws its inspiration and legitimacy from the expertise, the enthusiasm and the commitment of all people who care for material, immaterial and digital heritage on a professional or a volunteering basis.
Furthermore, the “Berlin Call” is based on the contributions and support of the national coordinators of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, members of the EYCH Stakeholder Committee and members of the European Heritage Alliance 3.3.
We invite all those who care about Europe’s past, present and future to sign, support and share this appeal.
