Europe: Practised Heritage

The theme EUROPE: PRACTISED HERITAGE deals with the search for a European identity. Our notion of “Europe” is formed not only by the built heritage, but by all forms of cultural expression like literature, philosophy, visual arts, dance, theatre, music. A special focus will be on the interaction between tangible and intangible cultural heritage. How does a space influence art? How is a place shaped by art?

Practised Heritage in all its rich diversity – this also includes the people that support it and pass it on. Therefore this theme will give much attention to the networks for preserving, handing down, exchanging and participating in intellectual and social history.
